The 41-year-old Neapolitan will be in Riad: it is the second time for him after an Inter-Milan championship in 2020
The referee for Milan-Inter will be Fabio Maresca. The 41-year-old from Naples has been designated for the Italian Super Cup scheduled for 8pm on Wednesday, Italian time, in Riyadh. At the King Fahd International Stadium, the referee will be joined by the assistants Alassio and Baccini, with Di Paolo and Abisso in the Var room. It is the second Milan derby for Maresca: in February 2020 – before the stop due to Covid – he directed a 4- 2 in the Nerazzurri’s comeback in the league.

Excluding that 4-2 signed by Antonio Conte, Maresca has refereed the Milanese 21 times. It will be the first time for Inter this season, after the previous 10: the balance is 7 wins, two draws and two defeats, with the knockout missing for four years now. The Neapolitan whistle, on the other hand, managed the Rossoneri once more, always and in any case in the league: 6 Milan triumphs, four “X”s and two big matches lost in the same season with his cousins - in fact – and against Juventus. This year Maresca has already refereed Atalanta-Milan 1-1 on the second day of August.
