The U-20 World Cup which will take place in Indonesia will be held from 20 May to 11 June 2023.
There are six venues that the government has proposed to FIFA, one of which is the Manahan Stadium in Solo City.
Not wanting to miss the moment, Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka proposed to the Ministry of Youth and Sport that the opening and final of the U-20 World Cup be held at the Manahan Stadium in Solo.
Gibran also coordinated with Wishnutama Kusubandio who was responsible for opening and closing the U-20 World Cup.

“So far there has been no decision from the center regarding the opening and final of the U-20 World Cup in 2023,” said Gibran, Thursday (26/1/2023).
He said Manahan Stadium had experience in hosting international events, such as the ASEAN Paralympic Games (APG).
On this basis, he proposed that the opening and final of the U-20 World Cup in 2023 could be held at the Manahan Stadium.
“We have experience hosting APG. From all of our volunteer support, this is a bigger event with more guests, and the country participates in more U-20 World Cups,” said Gibran.
Gibran also believes that with the opening and final of the U-20 World Cup at the Manahan Stadium, it will be even more lively. Moreover, Solo has many supporters who will definitely participate in enlivening the U-20 World Cup at Manahan Stadium.
