The six-episode series, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by Marissa Jo Cerar, stars Adrienne Warren and Cedric Joe.

The plot tells the story of Mamie Till-Mobley, a woman who dedicated her life to seeking justice for her son Emmett Till, after his brutal murder in the southern United Statesduring the time of Jim Crow laws.
Reluctant to let Emmett’s murder fade from the headlines, Mamie chose to bear her pain in front of the entire world in order to emerge as an activist for justice. and thus start the Civil Rights Movement in the United States as it is known today.
