STALKER 2 Heart of Chronobyl it’s a game that many people have been keeping an eye on for some time, and the fact that it looks excellent every time we see more of it has only increased the buzz around this open world survival horror FPS. Now, the developer GSC Game World has released a new batch of gameplay screenshots, once again offering a glimpse of how visually impressive the game is.
The screenshots come courtesy of Wired, who recently sat down with the developer to talk about the significant hurdles to the development that GSC Game World has been dealing with behind the scenes. Based in Ukraine, the studio halted development of STALKER 2 in March of last year when the country was overrun by Russian forces in a conflict that is still ongoing in the region. Development of the shooter resumed some time later and part of the GSC Game World development team moved to Prague.
Speaking to Wired, lead producer Maria Grygorovych said:
It was a game about Chornobyl, which is actually located in the Kiev region, made by a Ukrainian team before the war and grew into something incomparably bigger after the invasion started. It is now a national product, aimed at proving that Ukraine is not only exceptionally effective and courageous on the battlefield, but also equally valuable in terms of its cultural heritage. Something to show the world.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch this year for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
