Sparta already led 2-0 in Leeuwarden after 18 minutes. Tobias Lauritsen scored with a long shot. Koki Saito scored the second goal. Sven Mijnans prepared both goals.
Sparta came to 3-0 in the 51st minute. Vito van Crooij converted a penalty after a foul by Mees Hoedemakers on Lauritsen. Sparta thus remained undefeated for the sixth league game in a row. SC Cambuur remains at the bottom of the Eredivisie, trailing the penultimate FC Volendam by 3 points.
