Sparta has remained unbeaten in the Eredivisie for the eighth consecutive game at NEC. The team from Rotterdam of coach Maurice Steijn played 1-1 in De Goffert in Nijmegen. Sparta comes through the victory on 33 points and remains sixth. NEC, which drew for the eleventh time this season, is ninth and has 10 points less.
Arno Verschueren made the opening goal for Sparta. The Belgian headed in hard from a corner by Vito van Crooij. Substitute Pedro Marques scored the equalizer ten minutes before the end.
