Spanish police have seized 4.5 tons of cocaine hidden on a cargo ship that was in the Atlantic Ocean, in international waters off the Canary Islands.
The ship, called Orion, had departed from Colombia and was bound for Beirut, the capital of Lebanon: in addition to the drugs, it was carrying 1,750 cows. After being intercepted, she was taken to the port of Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. The crew, made up of 28 people of different nationalities, were arrested by the Spanish police, but some remained on the ship under surveillance to look after the cows.
