TURIN, 16 JAN – “I live my life every day, I go to restaurants, I meet people, I drive, I play tennis, I have always met generous, genuine and compassionate people. I didn’t hide, I didn’t go to live in a cave” Kevin Spacey told ANSA, the Oscar-winning actor involved in the Weinstein wave with a successful lawsuit but other proceedings underway for allegations of homosexual harassment. Spacey, not without controversy, is in Turin where he receives the Stella della Mole from the Cinema Museum and where he holds a masterclass. “What you see in the media is not real life, I’m not reclaiming public life because I never left it,” he added. “I will be forever grateful to Franco Nero for getting me back on set, for offering me a film when everyone else was scared. The role doesn’t matter, his gesture is important, what he did in a particular moment in my life. He called me and said ‘regardless of everything’ I want you to be in the film and this not only as a person but as an actor meant a lot”, said the actor again speaking of the first role that brought him back to the set, L the man who designed God, second directed by Nero. The two-time Oscar winner had his career literally wiped out by #MeToo and despite having been acquitted in 2022 from a first civil lawsuit filed by actor Anthony Rapp, other processes are underway in following allegations of homosexual harassment.
