What has been the videogame most successful of 2022? There is no single metric, as we have many lists depending on different platforms or regions.
For example, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was the best-selling game of 2022 in the United States, while in Japan that saga is not even smelled, and Pokémon reigns undisputed.
Another good thermometer to find out which have been the best games of 2022, or at least the most popular, is the list of most downloaded games on the PlayStation Store, which Sony itself shares every year for its PS5 and PS4 games.
In the end, Elden Ring has not been able to surpass FIFA, Call of Duty or God of War, but it is very remarkable that a new IP has slipped into such high places in the top of downloads.

Another interesting fact is that games like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West y Gran Turismo 7the three big Sony exclusives in 2022, are at the top of the PS5 list… while on PS4 you have to go down almost to the bottom of the list to find them.
