In the Hasseler Es district of Hengelo, the investigation into the presence of PFAS in 24 gardens of homes in the district will start this morning. The gardens may have been polluted because 30 years ago, foam containing PFAS was used to extinguish fires after an F-16 crash. Higher concentrations of PFAS have been found in the Hasseler Es. Research must show whether this also applies to the gardens.
