Motoi Okamoto, producer of the saga, believes that the franchise will have a promising future, since one of his goals is for more studios to collaborate and develop titles in the saga.
In a recent interview, the creative highlighted above all the role that independent companies will have for Silent Hill. He acknowledged that some planned projects have not come to fruition, but clarified that they continue to receive proposals to ensure that the series remains active in the long term.

Silent Hill will have a guaranteed future with more games
Recent rumors claim that there are at least 3 other unannounced games in the saga. This idea does not sound far-fetched after Okamoto’s statements, who stated that they continue to receive proposals from various studies that want to work with the horror saga.
He recognized that independent studies will be very important, since they will allow them to do several projects that will be very different from each other. So he promised that there will be more games and that he will carefully analyze all the proposals that Konami receives.
“There’s not a lot we can do ourselves, which means we have to work with a lot of different independent creators if we want to do a lot of different Silent Hills. That’s why we made moves to work together with people from all over the world who want to make Silent Hill games,” the producer explained.
Okamoto thinks this approach is the best to truly revive the franchise, as he believes that a single project would have been insufficient for fans. He pointed out that some proposals could not materialize, but even so, he confirmed that more things are on the way.
“Unfortunately, there were some projects that never started, but we’ve been talking to a lot of creators and we’re still having a lot of discussions about what to do (…) The future of Silent Hill will only continue. I think what’s important about the series is that it’s unique, very artistic and original, and I’d like to continue to focus on that,” the developer concluded.
