The creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman, is clear that he would rather do new things than return to the ‘walkers’ saga.
In the year 2003 it began to publish The Walking Deadthe comic of Robert Kirkman y Tony Moore. Over time, it became very relevant, especially since they released a very successful series in 2011 that has had several spin-offs.
Now that the series Fear the Walking Dead is winding down with its eighth season, they asked Robert Kirkman if he would continue the story in comic format and he is clear that this is not part of his plans.
“There is a chance not zero, but barely, of that ever happening. It is extremely, extremely unlikely. The closest we’ll get to this is a whole new series of mine that’s completely separate from The Walking Dead but has a theme to appeal to TWD fans. That’s the best I could do right now.”
The author went on to say that for now, he does not want to know anything more about The Walking Dead.
“I gave 16 years of my life to this world. I may dabble in it at some point in the future, but I doubt I’ll ever return to do a full series. But… I would never say never”.
The saga continues in live action.
Maybe Robert Kirkman prefer not to be involved in The Walking Deadbut they are preparing new franchise series, such as the one starring Rick (Andrew Lincoln) y Michonne (Danai Gurira), or the one that will follow Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). So fans can rest assured that there will be more zombies in the coming years.
While Robert Kirkman will have new adaptations of his works, such as the second season of the spectacular animated series Invincible and the movie Renfieldwhere Nicholas Cage will interpret the dracula.
