WASHINGTON – A woman and a boy were killed by an attack polar bears who chases residents in a small remote village in Alaska , United States of America (US). This was disclosed by the local police.
Alaska State Troopers reported that the bear chased residents after entering an Alaska town in west Wales before attacking the woman and boy.
According to the report, the bear was shot and killed by another resident while attacking the two victims.
“Troopers and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game are working to travel to Wales as weather conditions permit,” the report said.

Police said the identities of the victims were not immediately released because next of kin were still being notified.
According to the United States (US) Census, Wales is on the west coast of Alaska and has a population of 168.
According to a 2017 study published by The Wildlife Society, reports of polar bear attacks on humans are extremely rare.
“From 1870-2014, we documented 73 wild polar bear attacks, spread among the 5 Polar Bear Range States (Canada, Greenland, Norway, Russia and the United States), resulting in 20 human deaths and 63 human injuries. ,” according to the report.
But melting ice due to climate change has led to corresponding changes in bear behavior and made human-bear encounters more likely, CNN previously reported.
