Keys to understanding Ant-Man 3
Unlike other Marvel movies, ANT–MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA is a self-contained story, but its plot will have a major impact on the future of the MCU.
Says producer Stephen Broussard: “We talked about movies like CAPTAIN AMERICA AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, which saw the fall of SHIELD and it seemed like the whole MCU revolved around that. CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR was another movie that saw the heroes divided into camps and battle lines drawn.”
“It seemed like the future of the MCU was going to be defined by the action of that movie. We really liked the idea of making this Ant-Man movie something important and integral to the advancement of the UCM”, adds the producer.
About the Quantum Realm
In developing the new story, the creative team behind ANT–MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA knew right away that they wanted to move Ant-Man and the Wasp into a new world that was as unfamiliar as it was terrifying. To explore it, they summoned director Peyton Reed again. It should be noted that he was responsible for the two Ant-Man-focused Marvel films (2015’s ANT-MAN and 2018’s ANT-MAN AND THE WASP).
“The Ant-Man movies were always about family. In QUANTUMANIA, we dig deeper and complicate family dynamics while also painting on a much larger canvas. We dabbled in the Quantum Realm a bit in the first two movies, but this time, we wanted to give the movie a totally different visual look. It’s an epic experience,” Reed explains.
a new heroine
Something important will be the arrival of a new heroine. Is about Height, the daughter of Scott Lang. In the history, Cassie reveals his passion for science and technology, and his curiosity embarks the whole family on a unique journey to a vast subatomic world, where they encounter strange creatures, a devastated society, and the master of time, leading a dangerous mission that has just begun. begins.
“When I first met Peyton and Marvel, we were very excited about making an epic, high-adventure movie with the least likely Super Hero. From the beginning, the idea was to put them up against an Avengers-level danger, the MCU’s next great villain, Kang the Conqueror. But against him are only Scott, Hope and his families, ”says the screenwriter Jeff Loveness.
For Reed and his team, bringing the Quantum Realm to life meant approaching it from all angles. In this sense, he relates: “The idea is that the characters go deeper into the Quantum Realm than we saw in the previous films. Not only did we have to create the visual aspect of these cities and civilizations, but we had to create the internal logic and history, and then populate it with all these creatures, beings, and structures”.
