MOSCOW – President Russia Vladimir Putin says his country will win in Ukraine because of its powerful military-industrial complex. He even claims that the Russian defense industry is capable of producing the same amount as the rest of the world combined.
This was said by Putin to the workers at the St. Obukhov factory. The state-owned Almaz-Antey Corporation makes air defense systems.
“Our defense industry annually produces as many air defense missiles for various purposes as all the military industrial companies in the world produce. Our production is comparable to world production,” Putin said as quoted by Anadolu Agency, Thursday (19/1/2023).
Putin said that after the withdrawal of Western companies from Russia, due to its war in Ukraine, domestic companies succeeded in replacing them.

The workers say they are working around the clock because of Russia’s “special military operation”, but fear that once it is finished they will be out of work.
Putin then promised that the factory capacity would be used for the production of civilian goods, and that there would also be military orders.
Commenting on the final outcome of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine, which started in February, Putin said: “Regarding the final result and the inevitable victory, there are several things that are at the heart of our victory. The industry, and the state of public finances, and the social environment create the basis for our effective development and victory. (Victory) is guaranteed. I have no doubts about it,” he stressed.
