MOSCOW – One of the television stations Russia launch a psywar on the results United States of America (US) sends tank Abrams the Ukraine . They sneered at the US tank and its potential to make a difference on the battlefield.
In a video, the station’s narrator describes how Abrams tanks were used by Saudi Arabia during the civil war in Yemen in which they suffered heavy losses. Despite images of unknown explosions, the narrator says the tank had been shot down by a Soviet artillery rocket system and was vulnerable to modern weapons.
The narrator then says that the Russian T-90 tanks have a better range than the US Abrams and are also much lighter and cheaper than the American vehicles.
The narrator also notes how Western media reports that Russia will use its newest T-14 Armata tanks in combat, although British defense officials say these vehicles have been beset by technical problems and many are in “poor condition”.

But the Russian narrator gives the Armatas props, saying they are high-tech vehicles with complex sensors, data transmitters and on-board drones.
The video was tweeted on Saturday by Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to Ukraine’s interior ministry. Mocking the tank-segment comparison, Gerashchenko wrote: “‘Russian tanks are much better than Abrams tanks!’ Russian propaganda gets a new assignment,” as reported by Newsweek, Sunday (29/1/2023).
The US delivery of Abrams tanks was part of a Western pledge to help Ukraine with tanks, with Germany announcing it would provide Kiev with Leopard 2 and Britain delivering 14 Challenger 2 tanks.

The Abrams tank needs jet fuel and retired US Army Colonel Michael Linick, analyst at think tank RAND Corporation, told Forces.net that US tanks will need a separate fuel logistics line that is not required for the Leopard and Challenger 2.
