In the Eredivisie, PSV failed to level with leader Feyenoord in points. The team from Eindhoven lost 1-0 at FC Emmen, which last won a home game in August.
Lucas Bernadou scored in the 24th minute. The French midfielder got the ball at his feet after a corner kick and from just outside the penalty area he shot hard and low (1-0).
PSV had to continue with one man less shortly before the break after a direct red card for Brazilian Mauro Júnior, who fouled Rui Mendes.
FC Emmen had the upper hand after the break and missed a few opportunities for a second goal.
PSV won only one of the last five games in the Eredivisie and currently remains in third place with 35 points. Feyenoord can reach 41 points with a victory in De Kuip over NEC on Wednesday.
