Denpasar Sound – PSSI was impressed by FIFA’s letter banning stadiums for the 2023 U-20 World Cup from being used outside of football activities. The proof is that the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUBGK) will instead be used to hold concerts for singers Raisa to Black Pink.
It is known, the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) has been designated as one of the arenas for the U-20 World Cup on 20 May-11 June 2023.
Apart from SUGBK, there is the Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo), Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya), Gelora Sriwijaya Jakabaring Stadium (Palembang) and Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium (Gianyar, Bali).
FIFA through FIFA Men’s Tournament Manager Christian Schmolzer has also sent PSSI an e-mail or e-mail on 30 November 2022.

The essence of FIFA’s letter is not to allow non-football activities to be held in all the stadiums that will be used for the 2023 U-20 World Cup. This includes SUGBK, of course.
However, the reality on the ground is different. PSSI seemed to ignore the FIFA letter. The proof, in the near future, SUGK will be used for activities outside of football. Namely the Raisa and Black Pink concerts.
Singer Raisa is scheduled to hold a concert on February 25 2023. Meanwhile, the music group from South Korea, Black Pink will hold a concert at SUGBK on March 11-12 2023.
Indeed, the use of the stadium for the 2023 U-20 World Cup as a concert or non-football venue has raised polemics.
It is feared that the use of the stadium which is the arena for the U-20 World Cup will be damaged. Especially on grass.

In this regard, it turned out that the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali was even reluctant to give a response.
“Do not ask me. Go ahead with that (SUGBK is a concert venue),” said Zainudin Amali at the Kemenpora Building, Jakarta, Monday (1/30/2023).
He also did not give a special message to the concert organizers regarding concerns that the grass on the field at SUGBK would be damaged by the concert.
“No message whatsoever,” he said.
Regarding the U-20 World Cup itself, so far 12 countries have confirmed their participation. The details are Indonesia (host), England, France, Italy, United States, Fiji, New Zealand, Israel, Slovakia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Honduras. (AMONG)
