An attempt by the municipality of Enschede to bring a ‘forgotten statue’ back to Boekelo failed in court, meaning that the artwork will soon be auctioned in Paris. However, emeritus professor Henk Dekker (73) does not give up and has been living in all sorts of archives for weeks now. “I brought this case to the attention in all my enthusiasm, but it turned out completely counterproductive. Now I feel indebted.”
