Pichetto Fratin: possible drop in bills
The Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, believes a drop in gas bills possible after the lowering of quotations on the TTF. When asked about the question on the sidelines of a Confindustria Energia conference, he replied: “I think so, the regulatory body is the Arera. I think the current figure should result in lower bills, even by gas. There was an initial switch to electric, now there should also be gas”.

“I saw this morning – added the Minister – the new prices of the weekly average and are identical to those of last week, they have remained quite stable”. Minister Urso is dealing with the dispute, he added: “I’m not able to say if there’s any news. Pichetto Fratin: energy dependence is a brake on growth
“The energy dependence in Italy has represented a handbrake to the growth of our economy”. Pichetto Fratin said. “We have had influences on nuclear power, then ideological positions on the extraction” of hydrocarbons. But “the French energy we import is nuclear. In Italy there has been a push towards renewables and also in this case oppositions ”, he observed. “This Government wants face up to seriously dependence and energy security which is paramount. The other side of the coin is the environment which is a consequence of safety. Hence the choices on the regasification terminals, on the simplificationon new forms of energy production such as hydrogen”, he highlighted pichetto.
