KIEV – Controversy regarding the President Russia Vladimir Putin endless. Most recently, the Russian strongman is believed to have a body double after a photo showed him wearing high heels in Moscow.
The photo was taken last Wednesday when Putin was photographed with students of Moscow’s Lomonosov State University during a visit for Russian Students’ Day, or Tatiana’s Day.
Putin, who is believed to be around 5 feet 7 inches tall, was seen wearing shoes with extra thick heels to increase his height.
A Kyiv Post correspondent, Jason Jay Smart, shared photos from Putin’s visit that sparked conspiracy theories about Putin’s use of body doubles.
“Putin wears high heels. He does it whenever he’s with a group that ‘should’ be shorter than him (5’7″/170 CM),” Smart tweeted.

“But it seems that at most public events a body double is present – not the real Putin. The change in height, ears and weight is inexplicable.”
Unsubstantiated claims that the Russian leader used a body double, amidst rumors that his health was deteriorating, have been pushed to the surface many times including by the Ukrainian government.
In August 2022, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence Major General Kyrylo Budanov said on Ukrainian television that Putin’s ears looked different in some of his public appearances.
Budanov said on Groshi on 1+1, a Ukrainian TV channel, that Putin’s habits, appearance and even height have changed.
