On the go the 48-hour strike organized by petrol stations throughout Italy. Starting from 7pm tonight on the ordinary network e from 10pm on the motorway, petrol stations could be closed, including self-service pumps.
“Revoke the strike, it’s only damaging to the citizens”. This was the request of the Senator Adolfo Urso, which subsequently fell on deaf ears. “The stop was and is confirmed and the minister’s statements are yet another demonstration of the confusion in which the government moves in this matter”, the presidents of Faib, Fegica and Figisc/Anisa replied in a joint note.
Are we all on foot then?
If you are already panicking don’t worry, refueling will still be possible.
The opening of the vending machines is not guaranteed, but there are some rules which must be respected to guarantee citizens the minimum services. On Italian motorways every 100 kilometres the opening of at least one fuel station is guaranteed. As HDMotori.it points out, the list of petrol stations operating during the 48-hour strike was published on the Conference of Regions website.
Even in urban areas, minimum services must be guaranteedthe regulation in fact provides that: “a number of refueling stations must be kept in service at least 50% of the establishments open on public holidays according to the scheduled shifts”.
The strike, as we have already told you, also involves the self-service vending machines, nonetheless those managed directly by the oil companies could remain open. It is not easy to identify them since a private individual could operate under the name of the oil company.
