PEC Zwolle has strengthened its lead in the Kitchen Champion Division. The leader won 2-1 at Roda JC in Kerkrade and has thus reached 53 points. That is 9 more than Heracles Almelo, which has played one game less.
Lennart Thy opened the scoring for the visitors in the 32nd minute. The striker tapped in well on a cross from the right from Daijiro Chirino. PEC came 2-0 5 minutes later. Just like Thy, Thomas van den Belt made his tenth of the season by shooting a returned ball high.
PEC coach Dick Schreuder did not see the lead in the second half in trouble. Roda, however, got stronger and scored through Lennard Hartjes. The Limburgers did not succeed in a second goal. Boyd Reith’s shot hit the post in extra time.
Jong PSV took three points against Willlem II (3-2) thanks to a goal by Isaac Babadi in extra time. Matthias Verreth had opened the score for the Tilburgers. Mohamed Nassoh brought Jong PSV back. After Jason van Duiven’s 2-1, Jeremy Bokila seemed to give Willem II a point. But Babadi still made the third for the young team from Eindhoven.
De Graafschap got stuck with a 1-1 draw at the last of Jong FC Utrecht. Aurelio Oehlers put the home team 1-0. Rio Hillen took care of the equalizer.
