A platform that hasn’t taken off yet
Although the company changed names after a few business mergers, everything seems the same. It still has not been able to compete head-on with industry giants such as Netflix, Prime Video o Disney+. In fact, it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that they started their territorial expansion plan.
It should be noted that although there are dozens and dozens of digital video catalogs in the United States, few have the budget to cross borders. In countries of Latin America o Europapeople only manage to subscribe to about 5 or 6 services.
Starz, however, has already increased its domains by reaching out to such regions. Not in the meantime, this was achieved after having had to cede his titles as Penny Dreadful o the tudors to other companies for distribution.
Now, as part of their strategy to gain more followers, they have tried to produce in several countries or languages. In Mexico, for example, they filmed all the blood, a crime thriller based on a best seller from that country. In Spain, in turn, the creation Nachoa drama/comedy based on the porn industry and its exponent Nacho Vidal.
