The Coppel chain of stores reported that given the climate of violence that prevails in Culiacán, Sinaloa, after the arrest of Ovidio Guzmán, The activity has been paralyzed to protect the safety of its employees.
“For security reasons and on the recommendation of the authorities, the activities of Coppel’s distribution centers, stores, and collection centers were suspended, until the security conditions exist to resume activities in the state of Sinaloa, basically in Culiacán,” the company said.
The firm originally from Sinaloa highlighted that collaborators have also been asked that they remain sheltered in their homes and that they avoid unnecessary transfers.
According to the company, customers who had to make payments today were invited to carry out their operations digitally; Meanwhile, measures are still being analyzed for users who cannot access this channel.
Some 64 Coppel stores remain closed in Culiacán and the metropolitan area.
