Football star Aniek Nouwen finishes the season at AC Milan. Chelsea, the club with which the 23-year-old from Brabant is under contract, is renting her out to the Italian club for the rest of this football year. Nouwen did extend her contract in London until the summer of 2025.
The international of Orange exchanged PSV for Chelsea in 2021. Nouwen won the league title and the FA Cup in her first season with the English club. This season, however, she hardly gets any playing time from trainer Emma Hayes. Nouwen played three games in the English league and one in the Champions League. With a view to next summer’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the Brabant will be rented out to AC Milan. She hopes to play more in Italy. AC Milan is fifth in Serie A for women.
Nouwen played 37 international matches for the Orange, in which she scored two goals. She is usually a regular in the national team. Nouwen got stuck in the quarterfinals with the Orange at the European Championship in England last year.
