Thanks to a recent study carried out by Digital Turbine and disseminated by Adsmovil in several Latin American countries, we can learn more about the behavior of Chilean gamers. Report that indicates interesting data on the consumption of video games in the national territory, as well as on the way in which players in our country make different purchases.
To begin with, the report indicates that in Chile there are more female gamers than male mobile gamers, reaching 51% and 49% respectively. Players who are mostly in an age range between 25 and 34 years with 25%, followed by gamers from 35 to 44 years with 23%, leaving behind those between 16 and 24 years with 17% .
According to the study, Chilean players prefer Action and Adventure titles by 57%, followed by platform titles with 47%, Battle Royale with 38%; leaving MOBA and Fighting games at 33%.
And among the activities within the industry itself, the report indicates that 54% of Chilean gamers have played or downloaded a free video game, 31% spend time playing with their friends online, 15% have watched streaming games live and 10% have used a subscription service such as PS Plus or GamePass. In addition, it stands out that the number of Chileans who buy video games in digital or physical formats, are tied with 14%.
Finally, the study ensures that 37% of Chilean consumers discover brands through ads on social networks, 35% on search engines or on television, followed by recommendations among friends and family with 32%, being advertising of the retail websites themselves, the last option with 25%.
