The Economic Commission of the Chilean Chamber of Deputies is discussing a bill that seeks to regulate online gambling, which has received some proposals for improvement from a representative of the main online casinos that operate in our country. .

This is the lawyer Carlos Baeza, who on behalf of Betson, Coolbet, Betano, Latamwin and Estelarbet, proposed three improvements to the project, which are the elimination of the user tax, an increase in the restriction of bettors and rethinking the concept of licenses specials. According to Baeza, “regulation is important because it ensures minimum operating standards. I represent five companies that are coming together to drive this process forward, but we are in competition with each other.”
“Today, according to information from the Superintendency, there are more than 900 sale sites, but we do not know which of these 900 sites comply with the regulations and which do not. We like competition, but we want it to be on equal terms,” said the lawyer.
In addition, he indicated that within the regulation the restrictions of who can bet should be increased, improving the rules that avoid a conflict of interest. The casino representative indicated that people linked to the entities they sponsor, such as soccer teams, should be included in the list of users who cannot enter a casino that currently exists.
“Directors, agents and players should be included so that they cannot have a betting account, so all conflicts of interest can be covered,” Baeza said.
