“Nine-to-five is right, I go in at eight, I go to eight o’clock,” Dian answered.
In fact, Dian mentioned that there were people in the office who had doubts about her abilities.
“‘You don’t need to say much, you’re just here to make us do it’,” said Dian, imitating the style of speech of her office colleague at that time.
“But I want to prove I’m not like that,” he explained.
Previously, he applied in three offices and finally decided to take the job.
“I applied for three offices, the consulting one I took was an American company. Now it’s gone, it’s been acquired,” he explained.
As a philosophy graduate, Dian’s abilities are indirectly somewhat doubted.
“My work as a child of philosophy and artist is honest, ‘What do you do, huh?’ I was asked that. Yes, it’s true, I don’t blame them either,” said Dian Sastro
“Because if I see an applicant who looks like mine, I also ask ‘What kind of work can this child do?'” he continued.
However, Dian worked hard to contribute to the office.
“So I feel I have to study twice as hard to be able to prove that outside of me being an artist, I can still contribute to the team.”
“‘Come on, sir, I want to study’,” he said.
Despite being an artist, Dian was not treated in a special way.
“Do you feel privileged because you’re an artist, well known by people?” asked Desta.
“Actually, I feel like I’m not privileged, but rather like just a decoration, you know,” said Dian.
However, Dian always thought about her baby after giving birth.
“When I worked in that office, I also got married in 2010, then I got pregnant, so there were times when I was pregnant working at work.”
“Then after I gave birth, I got three months of maternity leave.”
“The first day I came back as a mother who already had a baby at home, it turned out I couldn’t work, thinking about the baby,” she said.
This made Dian decide to resign even though she still loves the job.
“Finally, I immediately resigned, I still love (the job) and I still like it,” concluded Dian Sastrowardoyo.
