Okoye’s role could have been very different in Black Panther 2
A deleted scene from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been revealed and it shows how Okoye (Call Gurira) almost became queen of Wakanda. Directed by Ryan CooglerBlack Panther 2 follows the conflict between Wakanda and Talokaan underwater kingdom ruled by Namor (Tenoch Huerta). After Namor kidnaps Shuri (Letitia Wright) y Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), Ramonda (Angela Bassett) strips Okoye of his title of General of the dora milajewhich causes the character to become a midnight angel.
Now, in a deleted scene shared by IGN shows that Okoye’s role could have taken a different course in Black Panther 2.
In the scene, Okoye’s uncle (Danny Sapani) and a member of the Border Tribe, tries to convince her to become queen of Wakanda after Ramonda’s death. Her uncle thinks that Shuri does not have the capacity to be queen, since she is still grieving the loss of her brother, which could cause her not to make the best decisions for Wakanda. Apparently, Okoye would disagree with her uncle given the look on his face.
At the end of Black Panther 2, Okoye becomes a Midnight Angel, so the movie’s deleted scene could have changed the role Okoye will play in the future of the movie. UCM If I were the queen of Wakanda. The tape ends with M’Baku (Winston Duke) challenging the throne, while Shuri leaves for Haiti to meet with Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o)but that might not have happened if Okoye had taken his uncle’s words to heart.
