Anyone who was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera can confirm that its super-powerful V12 is the star of the show. Agreed, the model lacks the dynamism of its Ferrari competitors due to its weight of 1.8 tonnes, but as a GT it is a successful mix of comfort and addictive acceleration. Unfortunately, the fun is over, because the DBS Superleggera will soon be retired. But not before turning the barrel fully open again with the DBS 770 Ultimate.
770 hp, 499 copies
That DBS 770 Ultimate wants to take everything about the DBS Superleggera up a notch. To start with are the 5.2 liter V12 with two turbos, which now delivers 770 hp and 900 Nm between 1800 and 5000 rpm thanks to an optimized intake path and a chip tuning that boosts ignition and boost pressure. Switching is still done via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, but the transmission would respond faster and change gears. Despite the extra power, Aston does not give faster sprint times: 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0-160 km/h in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 340 km/h.
To improve driving dynamics and steering feel there is a new steering column, increased lateral stiffness thanks to an improved strut brace and recalibrated adaptive dampers. You can recognize the DBS 770 Ultimate by its unique air scoops that provide the V12 with the necessary oxygen, extra carbon accents and special 21-inch rims that are inspired by the Valkyrie and the Victor. 300 coupés and 199 Volantes of the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate are being built… but they are all already sold out. From the summer they will be seen on the road.
