Suara.com – Deputy Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor visited PT Gunbuster Nickel Industry (GNI) in North Morowali, Central Sulawesi on Thursday (19/1/2023) regarding the workers’ unrest that occurred some time ago.
At PT GNI, Afriansyah Noor met with company management. He encouraged company management to immediately make improvements, both related to K3, industrial relations, and other matters related to employment.
“Earlier we also heard that the management received input and received directions from us, from the Ministry of Manpower to improve its K3, relations between workers and management, everything will be carried out, and hopefully this is a valuable lesson for us,” he said.
Afriansyah Noor said, by carrying out all the improvements, it is hoped that similar incidents will not happen again and the company’s production process will run smoothly.

He acknowledged that investment is very valuable because it can support the Indonesian economy, especially the economy of the people in North Morowali.
However, if the company is proven to have violated labor norms, the Ministry of Manpower will not hesitate to take legal steps.
Therefore, he appealed to company management to listen to every aspiration from workers. Meanwhile to the workers, the Deputy Manpower asked that voicing aspirations be done wisely by avoiding actions that have the potential to be anarchic.
