However, the latest State of Mobile annual report from analytics firm data.ai has revealed that app spend fell for the first time last year, but interestingly we are now using apps more than ever.
And it is that for the first time in history, total spending on applications has decreased year after year, specifically 2% less in 2022, staying at 167,000 million dollars.
While non-device applications games have experienced a 6% year-over-year revenue increase, games have seen a 5% decrease.
When it comes to app downloads in 2022, those for games surpassed the 90 billion mark, up 8% from the previous year, while downloads for all other apps rose 13% to a record 165,000. millions.

Also in this report we are shown that people have spent 4.1 billion hours using mobile applications in 2022, 9% more than in 2021. Specifically, a person spends about five and a half hours a day in applications for mobile.
Those that steal the most time are social networks with 35.8% of the time while entertainment applications take up 33.9% of a user’s time.
