We are still pained by the two sad news that accompany Henry Cavill, one of the most emblematic actors of geek culture. To begin with, the British actor will not repeat as Geralt de Rivia in the fourth season of The Witcher, the Netflix TV series.
It was a big surprise (in the negative), because we are still waiting for the premiere of the third season… which will be the last adventure of Henry Cavill in The Witcher universe.

A few months ago, Netflix Confirmed Henry Cavill Is Leaving The Witcher Seriesafter completing the filming of the third season, which will premiere this summer on the platform.
This implies that the British actor will no longer be Geralt, nor Superman in the Warner and DC Comics movies, which has undoubtedly broken the hearts of many of us.
The departure of Henry Cavill from The Witcher was a great earthquake in the offices of Netflix, but at no time was it thought of transmitting the decision to the cast of the series. That is only the producers of the show knew the news.
This had not really been confirmed at any time… but a recent interview with Lars Mikkelsen, who plays Stregobor, sparked controversy on the networks.
What is the reason for Henry Cavill’s goodbye? Nobody knows, but at least Mikkelsen has shed a little more light on the matter: no one in the cast knew about the departure of the British actor.
”I was surprised. Yes. We finished in August, I think. And I didn’t know. I did not know anything. I only had one or two scenes with him, so I didn’t really get to talk to him. But what it is, I don’t know, I really don’t know.”
Netflix was silent, and the only means by which the actors found out was through the press, back in the month of October. Let’s put it in perspective: filming for the third season wrapped up in August.
Shortly after the decision was leaked, Netflix announced that Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) would be the successor to Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt.
Henry only had good words for Liam, whom he sees as a ”good Geralt”to which the brother of Chris Hemsworth (our beloved Thor) replied the following:
”Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. He may have some big boots to fill, but I’m really excited to step into the world of The Witcher.
