With this new figure, total sales rose to 7.1 million units since launch. This means that the Nintendo Switch broke a new record and became the best-selling home console in the history of France. For context, the previous record belonged to the Nintendo Wii with 6.3 million consoles shipped.
According to Philippe Lavoué, 10.5% of the population of France has the hybrid console of the big N, quite an achievement if we consider that the country inhabits around 67 million people. In addition, he indicated that 9 of the 10 best-selling games in the territory during 2022 were from Nintendo Switch.
