Today we all know that the PS5 It has been on the market for more than two years, and by this time an improved version of the console was expected by Sony. That is, some hardware revision or new models planned for the console in the coming months. Interestingly, leakers have claimed that’s the plan, with journalist Tom Henderson reporting in September of last year that Sony is working on a new PS5 model that will come with a removable drive.
Now, Henderson has provided another brief update on the new model. Via Twitter, the journalist recently claimed that the new PS5 model won’t feature “any major hardware changes” beyond the removable drive, which means he shouldn’t expect any spec updates. Henderson also says that the drive itself will not be compatible with the current Digital Edition of the PS5.
Supposedly, Sony will start production of the new model in April ahead of its September release, at which point it will replace the current two PS5 models and become the only option available.
Meanwhile, recent retailer listings in Europe have also suggested that at some point in the near future, Sony will release a new PS5 bundle that will come with two DualSense controllers.
A small update here:
– Doesn’t seem like there are any major hardware changes from the original console.
– Disc Drive likely won’t be compatible with the current digital versionhttps://t.co/2rzlDrjYAb— Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) January 13, 2023
