The police chief of San Mateo County, a region in northern California, reports “an incident with several victims.” According to American media, it concerns two shootings that took place at farms close to each other and that killed seven people.
Shooter arrested
A shooter is said to have been arrested, reports The New York Times. The motive of the shooter is not yet clear.
The state’s governor, Gavin Newson, was in Monterey Park, where a gunman killed 11 people this weekend after Chinese New Year celebrations, when he heard the news. “I am in the hospital with victims of the shooting and being called away due to another shooting. Tragedy after tragedy,” he writes on Twitter.
