The next January 25 opens in Netflix the mexican series “Against the ropes”story starring Caraly Sanchezwhich recounts the life of “Angela”who after spending six years in prison for a crime he did not commit, must face his greatest challenge: take back the reins of his life and recover the love and respect of “Dew” (Alisson Santiago), his daughter.
Realizing that “Dew” She is a great fan of fights, she finds in them and in her alter ego “Black Bride”, the way to conquer the audience and especially the heart of his daughter. They also participate in the cast Scarlet Gruber, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanna Zacharias, Maria Balam, Valentina Buzurro and Rodolfo Zarcowith the latter, THE REPORTER He talked about the series.
“This is a series that is very related to sports, specifically wrestling. And it’s about ‘Ángela’, who after getting out of jail tries to establish a relationship with her son, who as a consequence of being locked up, there was a separation between daughter and mother, so there is a conflict there, because ‘Ángela’ wants to unite that relationship and everything he finds from wrestling ”.
About taking wrestling as a context, Rodolfo explains that beyond the fact that he is part of the television project, as an audience, he finds it interesting and important that a sport that identifies a lot with Mexico be placed on the visual scene, “so that more people come closer, not only from the country, but from the world as well, so that they begin to associate us with these things and not only with series of drug traffickers that perhaps could leave the country in a strange place.”
Regarding his character, Rodolfo plays “Mauricio”who is the boyfriend of the best friend of “Angela”, “Malena” (Maria Balam). “Mauricio” is the heartthrob of the neighborhood, but the only one who stole his heart for many years was “Malena”, his spontaneity and freedom has recorded in this couple a complicity of fun and eroticism. “Mauricio is this guy who is ‘very all mine’, he is one of the bosses in the neighborhood, but with ‘Malena’, he finds a base where he falls in love. They had a relationship for a long time, they left it, but now they resume it during the series, they are wanting to return even though ‘Small’ he resists a bit. They are protecting themselves within the series to be good as a couple.
Regarding how he developed the character, he highlights that he gave him mind, soul and body, “but there was a strong characterization. I had the opportunity to watch a few episodes and my character had nothing to do with me, we changed her clothes, her hairstyle… they gave me piercings. I even used a different voice and corporality, the same environment of the Iztapalapa neighborhood, helps me create this character”.
This is the first project for the public with which Rodolfo opens the year, while also you are interested in creating your own theatrical projectsbecause in that scenic area he also has a lot of experience.
