The Yamaha team manager spoke during the presentation of the new M1 in Indonesia

The new M1 Yamaha is the first bike of 2023 that we have seen, on Saturday it’s the turn of the Gresini team, then at the beginning of next week the official Ducati is revealed in Madonna di Campiglio. The Japanese company held its presentation in Jakarta, Indonesia. Beyond to the pilots it’s at Lin Jarvis the team manager also spoke Massimo Maio Meregalli.
Meregalli has indicated what he thinks is the crucial point for the new season: “Technically we have to be faster – said Meregalli -. From a strategic point of view, we have to avoid mistakes. Be ready to prepare the riders in the best possible way, avoiding mistakes and not taking anything for granted. There will be 42 races, be constant it will be the key to winning the title.”
After a season that started well but ended without titles, Meregalli was asked about this 2023, in which the sprint race will be the biggest change: “We’ll have to get used to it. It will be more challenging for both the teams and the riders. On Saturday evening, after the sprint race, we will have to look at the data to improve as much as possible for Sunday’s main race.”
His reflection though is that for enthusiasts the arrival of the sprint race will be a novelty positive: “It will be very nice for the fans, more stressful for a team manager like me”.
