Surely some of you know the magician Uri Geller for his spoon-bending trick, something The Pokémon Company was inspired by to create Kadabra. As many of you know, when Geller found out about Kadabra and his spoons, as well as Kadabra’s Japanese names (Yungerer, Yungeller, and Yun Geller), he sued Nintendo and demanded that the Pokémon TCG cards be withdrawn from the market. And so it was, the Pokémon cards were paralyzed.
However, for a few years now the return of Kadabra to the cards: this is due to an apology issued by Geller in 2020, where he stated that he had once again given permission to Nintendo to market Pokémon cards. Yesterday she was in the news again, having published a video where she said that the collection of Pokémon Cards 151, which will include cards from all the Kanto Pokémon, will also include Kadabra. In his words, this would be the long-awaited legal return of the Pokémon to the franchise’s JCC since its halt in 2022.
For now this has not been officially confirmed, but now they have been able to know more clues that point to the return of the Pokémon. Specifically, from the expert website on the Pokémon JCC PokeBeach, they affirm that a new sales sheet for this collection “Pokémon Card 151” effectively mentions that all the original 151 Pokémon will be present and Alakazam ex is also specifically mentioned as one of the cards included. This makes it very likely that Kadabra will eventually be in that set.
We will remain attentive to more details. Meanwhile, what do you think?
