For years, geeks or nerds have been stereotyped or caricatured as many things by society and especially by those we call “normies”, who see us as antisocial people who don’t know how to behave, for example, in front of a woman. Something that is common to read or hear from people who do not define themselves as nerds, but that is difficult to see among the communities themselves or worse, from a video game company to its own players.
This is what has happened with the creators of a mobile video game called Goddes of Victory: Nike, who launched a controversial commercial where they mock their own customers in a certain way. In the ad, a young man is seen who, in the middle of his own birthday, distances himself from the other people to play the game and begins to make gestures that are suggestively (or rightly) sexual, looking at the protagonists of the video game.
Girls who, like many in many games, appear in suggestive clothing and which has led Goddes of Victory: Nikke to be previously criticized by those who find that the game uses a rather excessive sexualization of its characters.
