Tonight we experienced a very special night at ‘El Hormiguero’ thanks to the visit of Miguel Ángel Revilla who celebrated his 80th birthday with us. The politician has received a very special gift from the program and has not hesitated to blow out the candles with Pablo Motos.
In addition, the politician reflected on this important day for him: “The truth is that the 80s impresses”, he pointed out in ‘El Hormiguero’ and presented his new book, “Toda una vida”.
The politician has told an anecdote that is also written in his book, and that is that Pedro Sánchez “forgot” to pay the bill in a restaurant: “I hope he does not feel bad, but I had a very screwed up moment,” he says.
“The waiter came to tell me that Sánchez had not paid the bill”
Revilla has recounted that Sánchez was very grateful to him: “When everyone wanted to charge him, before being president, I was on his side,” he says. And it is that, for Revilla, he was a fundamental pillar for Pedro to win the elections: “He won the elections in part because I spoke well of him on all television,” he says.
When Pedro was reelected, he wanted to have a detail with Revilla and invited him to eat in a restaurant: “He told me he was looking for a place and invited me, so we agreed on a day,” he says. Apparently it was in the Asador Donostiarra, a place where they served good meat.
The problem came when Revilla arrived at the restaurant a little later because his flight was delayed and Pedro Sánchez was already eating: “It’s time to leave and he tells me with good judgment that he was going to leave first so that the journalists will not take photos of us , something that I will never do anymore,” he says with a laugh.
Revilla waited a few minutes and just as the waiter was about to leave, he shouted to bring him the bill: “The waiter came to tell me that Sánchez had not paid the bill and that someone had to pay it. So I had to pay 98.50 euros,” points.
Revilla confesses that he has never told Sánchez the bad thing he put him through and that he owes him 98.50 euros for that meal. Great moment!
