The end of support for the viewer Meta Quest VR original was officially announced by Meta: Owners will still be able to play VR games they already own and use other apps, but they will no longer have access to the social features of the headset. The communication of the news took place via an email to the owners, in which Meta clarified that the company is only interrupting the development of new features for the old viewer (the end of this type of service will take place from 5 March), and that security-related updates will continue until 2024.
