Lisa Loringactress who gave life to “Merlin” (“Wednesday”, in the English version) in the first version of the popular television series “The Addams Family”has died at the age of 64, The Hollywood Reporter reported Monday.
Loring died Saturday night at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California. for complications of a stroke caused by high blood pressure, said his daughter Vanessa Foumberg to the specialized magazine.
Famous as the first Merlina Addams in the original version of the TV seriesalso played Wednesday Addams in the 1977 made-for-TV movie “Halloween with the New Addams Family” and had a role on the soap opera “As the World Turns,” according to the outlet.
“She left in peace with her two daughters (Vanessa and Marianne) holding hands,” her daughter said after the death.
As The Hollywood Reporter explained, Loring became popular for her portrayal of the peculiar Merlina in the black comedy that aired on ABC “The Addams Family.” a role he assumed in 1964.
Although he played the character for only two years, set the tone for later iterations of the rolewhich has become popular again thanks to the successful series that it currently broadcasts Netflix and where the role is played by Jenna Ortega, who recreates a famous Loring dance.
