Atletico Madrid are now directing their attention to FC Barcelona’s Memphis Depay after officially releasing Joao Felix to Chelsea on loan.
Depay is one of the best options that Atletico Madrid has to fill the position left by the Portuguese national team player.
Memphis Depay’s contract with Barcelona will expire this summer. The Dutch national team player has only played four times for Barcelona in all competitions.

The Catalan club prefer to transfer him on a permanent basis for a small fee, although they will also consider a loan depending on the terms of the agreement.
Barca would also like to be able to replace Memphis, if possible, but their hands are tied due to LaLiga’s financial fair game rules and any entry will depend on how much salary space the Dutch forward’s departure creates.
Spain international striker Borja Iglesias is coach Diego Simeone’s first choice, but Real Betis are demanding a hefty fee, forcing Atletico to look elsewhere.
Memphis came close to leaving Barca last summer, but his move to Juventus fell through and he ended up staying at Camp Nou for a second season following his move from Lyon in 2021.
Following a lack of minutes under Xavi, several clubs have confirmed and inquired about Memphis’ availability, with the former Manchester United man expected to leave for free in the summer if he does not move in January.
