You might not say it if you only look at the exterior design of the new Maserati GranTurismo, but the brand’s new sporty coupe is indeed a completely new model. That is clear from the technology, because in addition to the Nettuno V6 from the MC20, the new GranTurismo will also be delivered as a fully electric Folgore with 762 hp. But while the appearance of the old GranTurismo showed few wrinkles, the interior did reveal its elderly age. Something that this new generation is finally putting an end to.

We also see a modern dashboard with many elements of the Maserati Grecale, the brand’s new mid-sized SUV. The counters are fully digital, but there is still the classic division between counters and infotainment. Below the infotainment screen we also see a separate air conditioning panel, again with a touch screen, but fortunately the controls are permanently within reach. There must also be enough space on board for 4 adults and their luggage, although the electric Folgore seems to have a bump in the trunk, probably due to the battery.
Maserati also shows the difference between the three versions of the GranTurismo: the Modena with 490 hp V6 has a classic-looking leather interior, while the Trofeo (550 hp) goes for a sportier atmosphere with dark leather, red accents and carbon trim pieces . The Folgore goes for a modern two-tone design with blue leather and light accents, although you will be able to personalize those colors extensively. What is special is that the Folgore still gets large paddle shifters behind the wheel – presumably to set the regeneration of the electric motors. Otherwise we wouldn’t know what you need them for. The first units with V6 will be delivered in mid-2023.
