For many years Kuno Becker hid being related to Maria Felix. And for a few, have fallen under the influence of cocaine.
The first (he is a great-nephew) revealed it when he already had a career standing out in acting, thanks to soap operas “First love… at a thousand an hour” and “Soñadoras”.
The second, when he had already gone through the crisis of consumption and rehabilitation, although without failing to say that the use of that substance kept him busy and took away possible thoughts of suicide, since he was going through a great depression.
“I committed the immense stupidity of trying drugs”he acknowledged last year, “that’s why they saw me in some programs doing stupid things.”
Kuno reaches 45 years clean today. Looking for projects that fulfill you professionally, being active on social networks and in animal aid campaigns “Don’t forget to live while you search for your dreams”, is a phrase that has already been stamped on your daily life.
In this 2023 he celebrates 27 years of career, starring in films such as “The Cannibal’s Daughter”next to Argentina Cecilia Roth and the international “Gol”, an American production that catapulted him onto the world stage.
He has also directed two films: “Panic 5Bravo”whose story takes place entirely inside an ambulance and “The Day of the Union”set on September 19, 1985, when an earthquake struck Mexico City.
Away from “La Doña”
He always hid his relationship with “La Doña”, so he did not have “levers” to enter the Televisa.
In cinema, he had to audition for six months for his first film. And then put up with several “no’s”. But now she can boast of having worked alongside people like Antonio Banderas (Imaginando Argentina) y Danny Trejo (Green Ghost and the Masters of the Stone).
At the age of five he began to study the violin at the National School of Music of Mexico. He expanded those studies in Salzburg, Austria; and from the age of six to 16 he dedicated himself to that instrument.
“When I was little I gave two concerts with my grandmother, who is a pianist, one by Vivaldi in A minor and another by Bach in D major, in Mexico and California,” he told El Nuevo Herald at the time.
His mother tongue is Spanish and he speaks German perfectly (his grandparents are Teutonic) and English.
Now one of his plans is to build and direct an acid comedy in which religion is a key piece. “It is a criticism that God is love and peaceinclusion and that it does not have to be of the Aryan race, it is a perspective reminder that religion destroys us, that spirituality makes us grow and that God is love and not wealth, nor pedophilia, nor violence,” he says.
