More gloss and less drama! The season of national premieres has begun and now it is the turn of the tape “Make up again.” This is the first film by Chilean director Guillermo Calderón under the production of Fabula.
An intelligent comedy starring Paulina Gaitán, Regina Blandón and Ilse Salas that will hit national theaters this Thursday, February 9 under the Cinépolis Distribución label. “Alexandra” reappears in the life of “Ana” and “Rita2 to offer them work as makeup artists at a wedding. What they don’t know is that “Alexandra” is going through one of her well-known crises. “Ana” and “Rita” are bankrupt and need the money, so the only way out is to try to help “Alexandra” solve her problems, without going crazy trying.

Love conflicts, tear-proof friendships and a single goal: to raise money for rent without going crazy trying. the ingenuity of Guillermo Calderón is present in this feature film that tests the friendship of three completely different women. Thus, the Chilean writer, also known for his work as a screenwriter in projects such as “El Club” (2015), “Neruda” (2016) and “Ema” (2019), traced a new course in his career with “Maquíllame otra vez” by making his debut in the comedy genre. In this regard, the director details: “I love the idea of doing a comedy, I think these days it’s almost urgent.
But in this case, the comedy is going to be built from the drama, from a group of friends who have to meet after a long separation to work together again and they struggle to get ahead but they can’t”. A project full of firsts, because as in the direction, this film represents the first film project made in Mexico by the production company Fabulaa company founded in Chile in 2004 by the brothers Pablo and Juan Dios Larrín, which has brought titles such as “Jackie” (2016), “Spencer” (2021) or “A fantastic woman” (2017) to the big screen.
“I am sure that it will be a great project because it starts from a great script and also goes hand in hand with an extraordinary team. I feel honored to work with the Larraíns; that is an opportunity that is not given every day” expresses Paulina Gaitán and Regina Blandón adds “Being part of Guillermo Calderón’s first feature, whose work I deeply admire, seems incredible to me.”
Production that is accompanied by a cast in which, in addition to the outstanding leading trio made up of Paulina Gaitán, Ilse Salas and Regina Blandón, with the participation of the talents of Martha Claudia Moreno, Eliza Sonrisas, Tamara Vallarta, Michelle Betancourt, Fabrizio Santini, Mariana Villegas and Emmanuel Varela.
