Hogwarts Legacy has turned out to be one of the most polarizing games in recent years, and it has nothing to do with anything inside the game. Rather it is related to JK Rowling, author responsible for the magical world of Harry Potter and her political views. The situation reached such a degree that one of the most important video game forums in the world decided to prohibit talking about Hogwarts Legacy.
Recently ResetEra, one of the most popular and important video game forums in the field, announced that it is forbidden to talk about Hogwarts Legacy. Originally, the moderation team had prohibited sharing promotional material about the game (such as trailers or gameplay), but now any discussion about the game is prohibited.
“The mod team has decided to extend our previous ban on promoting the Hogwarts game to include the game itself. There will be no main theme or discussions about this game,” said B-Dubs, ResetEra manager.

Why was Hogwarts Legacy banned from ResetEra?
But why this important change? As it turns out, the moderation team finds it impossible to separate Hogwarts Legacy from Rowling. Thus, they refuse to give any type of mention to a game related to a person who “actively promotes” legislation that “will harm trans people.”
“After constant internal debate, we began to expose the issues raised by Rowling and the game in question, and each time we discussed it, we came back to the simple fact that Rowling is not only a bigot, but is actively pushing, in her position of rich and famous person, legislation that will harm trans people. She says that she uses the influence and money obtained thanks to her success with Harry Potter to promote transphobic laws, ”said B-Dubs.
