ROME, JAN 28 – The CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, and the CEO of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, today signed an agreement to start the development of ‘AE Structures’, a strategic project aimed at to increase gas production to supply the Libyan domestic market, as well as ensure the export of volumes to Europe. The agreement was signed in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the Prime Minister of the Libyan national unity government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dbeibah. The total investment is estimated at 8 billion dollars. “Today’s agreement will make it possible to make important investments in the energy sector in Libya, contributing to the development and job creation in the country, and strengthening Eni’s position as the leading operator in Libya,” Descalzi underlined.
